WSU`s Ferry County Cooperative Extension put-on quite a remarkable 8 week Webmaster`s course last June and July---it was a course to teach basic webmaster techniques & skills and was open to anyone with interest and access to an on-line computer---there was no charge for the course but students were expected to eventually give back 40 hours of their time to relevent community service, e.g. creating a home page for the Republic Library or the Chamber of Commerce. There were 13 of us in the class, meeting twice a week for 3 hours each class. It was a hands-on course, requiring non-trivial effort on the part of the student outside of the classroom. The motivation behind having such a course was to enrich and expand the County`s base of webmaster literate people. Thanks to Dan Fagerlie, the WSU Ferry County Extension Agent for being so supportive and providing the muscle[=$`s] for this innovative course.
The entire content and structure of the course was the creation of our teacher, David Kebler. He was tireless and selfless, giving each class/lecture twice the same day, once in the morning and again in the late afternoon, in order to accomodate the individual schedules of each one of us. His 3 hour classes were always clear and imaginative and he was always patient with us. No need to comment on the actual course content when his lecture notes are just one mouse-click away. David has left the area, returning to graduate school at New Mexico Tech in Socorro, NM to study mathematics, which is a real loss for Ferry County but a real gain for the Socorro area. I sure like David`s notion of teaching as the sowing the seeds of whatever it is you are teaching, like being a Johnny Apple Seed of Webmastery. A fellow student, Sara Brown, designed this T-shirt logo as a going away present for David:

Thanks David -------------thanks also to Honorous for the Auroboris Gif
